The Final Summit
by Andy Andrews
Modern day time traveler, David Ponder is faced with a daunting challenge toward the end of his full life. The fate of the entire world is resting on his ability to harness the knowledge and reign in the egos of many of the most famous and wise people through the course of history. Given the challenge from the Archangel to collectively figure out what the people on earth must do to save themselves and change the course of history, David deals with the human nature of the other Travelers and strives to make an impact.
This was another of Andy Andrews interesting, well written novels. I did not realize when I began reading it that it was a sequel to The Travelers Gift, however, it definitely was explanatory and I did not feel like I missed anything because I had not read The Travelers Gift. I enjoyed reading about a few lesser know heroes and enjoyed the fictional dialog between the travelers. I enjoyed some of the more modern and timely references to current events throughout the book. The story was a reminder that each person plays a part in the course of history and that we should be seeking out our role instead of just cruising through life on autopilot. I would recommend the book as a great casual read with a subtle call to action.
